Recommended places in Kyoto

I love ramen, and luckily I live in Kyoto, where actually has lots of great ramen restaurants. This time, my ramen buddy took me to a nameless ramen restaurant. No name ramen, so this became the “name” for this restaurant. How tricky is that.  They don’t even have the website or phone number.

“We are here” said my friend. “Where” me. No signboard or savory smell. This is definitely a hidden gem.

We took the stairs and went to the basement of this building.

I started thinking my friend is tricking me, but I was wrong. On the other side of this space, there were people having ramen.

Eating ramen! This looks more like café, but they are serving ramen.

While waiting, I found some fancy drawer below the table.

This is so cool! These spy-looking-tools in the center are seasonings. Garam masala, prickly ash(Sansho, Japanese pepper), chili pepper, and black pepper.

The presentation is fancy too. This toppings are unique for ramen. I think some people will like them, some won’t. The mixed flavor of Tonkotsu(pork back bone) and seafood makes strong soup. The taste was good, and the atmosphere was definitely added to it.

No name ramen
